Swiss Water Processed Decaffeinated beans from South America.
The Swiss Water Process is a chemical free method used to decaffeinate coffee beans. It begins by soaking raw beans in hot water, which causes the caffeine and some flavors to dissolve. This water now rich in caffeine, is passed through a special filter that removes only the caffeine, leaving the other flavors intact. The beans are then re-soaked in this flavored water to help them reabsorb the flavors without picking up anymore caffeine. Finally the bean are dried and ready to be roasted, resulting in coffee that is low in caffeine but still packed with its original rich flavor
